About The Position

This role involves moving in-house while continuing to specialize in plaintiff workers compensation. You will work within an established legal team with strong autonomy and ownership of your matters, enjoying a more flexible working environment outside the traditional private practice model. You will work directly with experienced senior lawyers in a specialist and growing organization. The legal team provides end-to-end advice and representation to individuals navigating workers compensation claims. The organization offers a collaborative, client-focused environment with a strong emphasis on practical outcomes and high-quality legal support. You will join a close-knit team where lawyers are trusted to manage matters autonomously while having access to senior support when required.

Requirements

Approximately 3.5+ years’ PQE in workers compensation or plaintiff personal injury.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage a portfolio of matters.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Commercial, practical and confident in dealing directly with clients.
Comfortable working autonomously within a flexible legal environment.

Nice To Haves

Strong preference for lawyers with plaintiff workers compensation experience.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of plaintiff workers compensation matters from initial instructions through to resolution.
Advise clients regarding their rights and entitlements under relevant workers compensation legislation.
Prepare claims, review medical evidence and develop matter strategy.
Liaise with insurers, medical practitioners, experts and other stakeholders.
Handle disputed claims and progress matters through the relevant dispute resolution processes.
Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, practical advice throughout the life of a matter.
Work closely with senior lawyers while independently managing your own files.
