About The Position

At Rankings.io, we help law firms grow through GEO, SEO, paid media, video, and other digital marketing services. We are looking for a Law Firm Digital Strategist to connect client objectives to clear priorities, measurable roadmaps, and coordinated work across channels. This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and contributes to improving our approach to client strategy. The Account Manager owns the client relationship and ongoing communication. The Law Firm Digital Strategist owns strategic direction, the roadmap, and the analysis that informs recommendations. Channel teams own execution. This is an individual-contributor role focused on planning, analysis, and direction, without hands-on campaign management or production responsibilities. The Strategist leads strategic discussions within client meetings in partnership with the Account Manager, explains recommendations and results, and participates in occasional in-person meetings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience, including responsibility for developing client strategies, evaluating performance, and recommending priorities across multiple channels.
  • Strong understanding across multiple disciplines: SEO and Local SEO, with the ability to evaluate how GEO, paid search, paid social, CRO, content, and video contribute to a shared objective. Deep expertise in every channel is not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect multiple channels into a practical plan, explain investment tradeoffs, and adjust priorities based on results.
  • Ability to assess a client’s market, competitive position, business goals, budget, and constraints before recommending an approach.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience interpreting data from GA4, Google Search Console, advertising platforms, call tracking, CRM systems, SEO tools, or comparable reporting environments.
  • Experience presenting strategies and performance recommendations directly to clients, including navigating difficult conversations.
  • Ability to influence priorities and resolve disagreements constructively with Account Managers, channel specialists, and department leaders.
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize strategic attention across a substantial client portfolio.

Nice To Haves

  • Agency experience managing multiple concurrent client strategies is preferred.
  • Legal marketing experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each client’s market, competitive position, desired case mix, geographic priorities, and budget to identify opportunities and constraints.
  • Partner with the Account Manager and client to establish realistic growth objectives, accounting for intake performance, firm capacity, and the time required to produce results.
  • Translate objectives into measurable roadmaps covering at least three months, with priorities, milestones, KPIs, and a clear rationale for the recommended approach.
  • Maintain an active roadmap for every assigned client, preparing the next segment before the current one ends. Develop longer-term plans when client goals or complexity require them.
  • Evaluate opportunities across GEO, SEO, Local SEO, paid media, video, organic social, content, link building, CRO, creative, web, and analytics.
  • Establish priorities based on expected impact, dependencies, available resources, and approved client scope and budget. Identify when additional investment or approval is needed.
  • Partner with channel experts to ensure execution plans support the roadmap while allowing specialists to determine the best technical approach.
  • Identify blockers and sequencing issues, challenge work that does not support client objectives, and recommend a better use of resources.
  • Interpret client performance using qualified lead volume, lead quality, acquisition costs, conversion rates, signed cases where available, and relevant channel metrics.
  • Diagnose underperformance, distinguish marketing issues from tracking gaps or intake challenges, and develop corrective recommendations with the appropriate teams.
  • Identify when to expand successful initiatives, shift budget or effort, pursue new growth opportunities, or change the approach.
  • Escalate material risks, execution blockers, data issues, and resource constraints promptly, and follow through on agreed actions.
  • Partner closely with Account Managers to align strategic recommendations with client priorities, expectations, and commitments.
  • Lead strategic discussions with clients, explaining performance findings, recommendations, trade offs, and expected outcomes.
  • Keep Account Managers, channel teams, and leadership aligned on priorities and decisions, resolving strategic disagreements constructively.
  • Complete monthly strategy checkpoints to evaluate progress, performance trends, blockers, and necessary adjustments.
  • Document objectives, strategic diagnosis, priorities, timelines, KPIs, risks, and next decisions, maintaining clear records of changes and assumptions.
  • Adapt planning depth to each client’s needs, balancing ongoing improvements for successful accounts with deeper analysis for complex or underperforming accounts.
  • Contribute to improving planning processes, templates, and strategy standards as the function evolves.
