The Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP) is seeking motivated and well-organized individuals to serve as law clerks or externs in their Voting Rights Program. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civil rights law and contribute to impactful projects. Law clerks and externs will assist attorneys with various aspects of their work, including investigating cases, developing advocacy strategies, preparing legal documents, and supporting discovery and motion practice. The position is primarily remote within Texas, with the option to work from one of TCRP's offices (Austin, Houston, and Alamo). For summer positions, a commitment of at least 400 hours over ten weeks is expected. During the school year, externs can work for course credit, typically averaging 15 hours per week. A designated attorney mentor will provide weekly 1:1 meetings for guidance and supervision.
