The Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP) is seeking motivated and organized individuals to serve as law clerks or externs in their Beyond Borders Program. This program focuses on humanitarian advocacy for migrants and state/local advocacy for good governance in border communities, aiming to eliminate harmful policies along the Texas-Mexico border. Law clerks and externs will assist attorneys with various aspects of civil rights work, including case investigation, drafting legal documents, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. The role offers hands-on experience in civil rights law, contributing to impactful projects under the supervision of experienced attorneys. Summer positions require a commitment of at least 400 hours (typically 10 weeks, 40 hours/week), while school-year externs work for academic credit (average 15 hours/week). Both roles include mentorship from a designated attorney. TCRP encourages applications from diverse candidates and values a culturally diverse and pluralistic team.
