About The Position
Performs general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, free from offensive odors. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule indicated is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Requirements
- GED or high school diploma.
- Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regular ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
- Frequent use of industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry/housekeeping equipment.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Make clean linen available in sufficient quantity to support residents’ care and comfort.
- Maintain linen in good repair and remove stained or damaged items from service.
- Collect residents’ laundry daily or as needed.
- Label new residents’ clothing as needed.
- Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
- Deliver clean laundry to residents’ rooms.
- Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
- Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
- Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
- Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
