Laundry Attendant
About The Position
Operate and monitor washing, dry-cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps. Identify stained or damaged items and determine whether they require repair, spot treatment, rewashing, or disposal. Inspect items removed from machines for cleanliness and place them in clean-linen carts. Set dryers to appropriate times and temperatures for the fabrics in each load. Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load. Fold cleaned articles to designated sizes by hand or with a folding machine, and maintain accurate laundry records. Follow company safety, security, and other policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; and complete required safety training and certifications. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company assets. Build positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns. Meet quality standards and help identify and implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings. Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects. Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors. The role involves extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking; moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces; navigating sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps; and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
