About The Position
The Laundry Attendant I is responsible for the proper handling and processing of Hotel linen and uniforms in accordance with the standards established by Prince Waikiki. This role involves operating pressing and ironing equipment, folding and stacking linen, sorting and hanging employee uniforms, and maintaining a clean work area. Additional duties may include delivering uniforms and assisting laundry washers with sorting, loading, and unloading machines.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write the English language to complete the production log and understand information, such as safety labels and instructions.
- Must be able to operate pressing and ironing equipment.
- Must be able to push, pull or lift heavy loads weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to push/pull wheeled racks weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate verbally with employees.
Responsibilities
- Operate pressing and ironing equipment.
- Fold and stack linen.
- Sort employee uniforms by department and hang on racks.
- Clean equipment and surrounding work areas.
- Deliver clean employee uniforms to the Uniform Room.
- Assist the laundry washers in sorting uniforms according to color.
- Assist the laundry washers to load and unload washer and dryers.
