About The Position

The Laundry Attendant Driver supports the day-to-day operations of the laundry and Ada Linen program, helping ensure efficient and productive operations. The role maintains paperwork and records linen weights and transports soiled and clean linen between the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Ada Hotel on a scheduled basis, ensuring accurate, timely delivery and proper linen condition. The associate learns to operate laundry equipment and work across laundry areas, including the iron, towel machine, washers and dryers, and chute room. The role follows company policies and procedures, completes daily responsibilities and cleaning tasks, maintains a clean and positive work area, and works with other departments to support guest satisfaction and quality and productivity standards. Driving duties include safely operating a company vehicle, loading and unloading linen, verifying and recording counts and weights, inspecting the vehicle, maintaining trip-related logs, and communicating with Laundry and Housekeeping teams about delivery timing or discrepancies. The role requires a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and completion of required vehicle safety training. This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability; associates must also be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and work at the Amway when needed.

Acceptable driving record; a Motor Vehicle Record check will be conducted before and periodically during employment.
Successful completion of any company-required vehicle safety orientation or training before operating a company vehicle.
Immediate notification to a supervisor of any change in driver’s license status, including suspension, revocation, or restriction.
Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for linen transport between hotel locations.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Learn to operate all laundry equipment and work in different laundry areas, including feeding and catching on the iron, operating the towel machine, washers and dryers, and working in the chute room.
Attend departmental meetings and follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures.
Read or listen to the Daily Planner and complete daily responsibilities and cleaning tasks.
Maintain a positive, clean work area and uphold productivity and quality standards.
Work with other departments to help ensure guest satisfaction and adherence to policies and procedures.
Safely operate a company vehicle to transport linen and laundry supplies between JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Ada Hotel according to the delivery schedule.
Load and unload linen carts and bags, handling items to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
Verify and record linen counts and weights at pickup and drop-off, maintaining accurate Ada Linen paperwork.
Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical issues to a supervisor.
Follow traffic laws and company vehicle policies and maintain a safe driving record while driving on hotel business.
Communicate with Laundry and Housekeeping teams about delivery times, delays, or discrepancies.
Keep the vehicle clean and organized, secure loads for transport, and complete required mileage, fuel, and trip logs.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and work at the Amway when needed.
