About The Position

The Laundry Attendant Driver runs the day-to-day laundry and Ada Linen operation to ensure it is efficient and productive. The position maintains paperwork and records Ada Linen weights and transports soiled and clean linen between the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Ada Hotel on a scheduled basis, ensuring deliveries are accurate, timely, and in good condition. The associate learns to operate all laundry equipment and work across laundry areas, including the iron, towel machine, washers and dryers, and chute room. The role follows company policies and procedures, completes daily responsibilities and cleaning tasks, maintains a clean and positive work area, and works with other departments to support guest satisfaction and quality standards. The role safely operates a company vehicle, handles linen carts and bags, verifies and records linen counts and weights, performs basic vehicle inspections, follows traffic laws and company vehicle policies, communicates delivery updates and discrepancies, secures loads, and completes required trip, mileage, and fuel logs. Weekend and holiday availability is required, and the associate may work at the Amway when needed.

Successful completion of any required company vehicle safety orientation or training before operating a company vehicle.
Immediate notification to a supervisor of any change in driver's license status, including suspension, revocation, or restriction.
Able to stand, walk, and run; be on one's feet up to 8 hours per day; handle or feel objects; frequently reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear, taste, or smell.
Able to safely operate a company vehicle for linen transport between hotel locations.

Responsibilities

Operate a company vehicle safely to transport linen and laundry supplies between the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Ada Hotel according to the established schedule.
Load and unload linen carts and bags while preventing damage, contamination, or loss.
Verify and record linen counts and weights at pick-up and drop-off, maintaining accurate Ada Linen paperwork.
Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical issues to a supervisor.
Follow traffic laws and company vehicle policies and maintain a safe driving record while on hotel business.
Communicate delivery times, delays, and discrepancies to Laundry and Housekeeping teams.
Keep the vehicle interior clean and organized and secure loads properly for transport.
Complete required mileage, fuel, and trip logs in accordance with company policy.
Learn to operate all laundry equipment and work in all laundry areas, including feeding and catching on the iron, operating the towel machine, washers and dryers, and working in the chute room.
Attend departmental meetings and follow handbook policies and standard operating procedures.
Read or listen to the Daily Planner and complete daily responsibilities and cleaning tasks.
Maintain a clean and positive work area.
Work with other departments to support guest satisfaction.
Maintain required productivity and quality standards and adhere to policies and procedures.
