About The Position

The Laundry Aide performs day-to-day laundry services to ensure patients’ laundry needs are met in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The position is part-time, with a stated schedule of 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The role includes handling laundry from collection through distribution, maintaining a positive and professional approach toward patients and colleagues, and contributing to patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance. The Laundry Aide must communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team and assist with patient evacuation when needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Prior health care experience preferred.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Know practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
• Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, iron, fold, stack, hang, and distribute laundry.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Follow company policies, compliance procedures, and Life Care’s Code of Conduct; complete mandatory compliance training.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information and professional working relationships with associates and vendors.
