About The Position

The Laundry Assistant performs day-to-day laundry services to ensure patients’ laundry needs are met in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role includes routine laundry processing and distribution, customer service, and support for patient evacuation. The position is part-time, with a shift from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., six days per pay period, including every other weekend.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior health care experience is preferred.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Be knowledgeable about practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
• Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
• Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
• Adhere to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, iron, fold, stack, hang, and distribute laundry.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.

• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Follow applicable laws, regulations, facility guidelines, department procedures, and company policies.
• Maintain patient rights, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, and professional working relationships.
