About The Position

The Laundry Aide sorts laundry and folds terry and linens, provides service to guests and other departments, and maintains a clean and orderly laundry facility. The role supports the laundry operation by maintaining a continual flow of linen and terry, monitoring quality, reporting misuse or unacceptable items, and assisting wherever needed. The employee must follow safety procedures, operate laundry equipment as trained, maintain personal appearance standards, and contribute to a professional, positive, and cooperative workplace. The position also requires adherence to the resort’s environmental practices and completion of reasonable assignments from management. The work is fast paced, with moderate physical activity and noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. Workdays begin at a set time and end when assigned work is completed, as determined by the Laundry Manager or supervisor. During the May–October peak season, employees must be able to work consistently in temperatures of 85–100 degrees. The role involves strict deadlines, unexpected demands, and interaction with varied personalities. Native American Preference applies. Candidates must pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work in warmer conditions of 85–100 degrees consistently during May–October peak months.
Ability to perform the described physical work, including folding and sorting towels, working with laundry equipment, and standing for partial periods.
Must pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Multi-task and manage time effectively to meet firm deadlines.
Complete assigned projects and assist in any area of laundry where needed.
Report misuse of linen and terry to the Laundry Manager or Supervisor.
Ensure laundry employees meet Grand Traverse Resort and Spa standards.
Follow the resort’s environmental practices.
Perform other duties and reasonable requests assigned by management.
