About The Position

The Laundry Aide 2 efficiently and safely operates and loads washing machines, operates dryers, sorts laundry, and folds terry and linens. The role provides service to guests and other departments and maintains a clean, orderly laundry facility. Compared with Laundry Aide 1 positions, this role involves more heavy lifting and physical activity. The position requires safe equipment operation, attention to linen quality and continuous laundry flow, and cooperation with the laundry team. Employees may be assigned to any area of laundry and are responsible for other reasonable duties requested by management. The role is physically demanding and fast-paced, with work concluding when all assignments are completed as determined by the Laundry Manager or supervisor. During May through October, employees must be able to work consistently in temperatures ranging from 85 to 100 degrees. Applicants must pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment. Native American Preference applies.

Requirements

Minimum one year of previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Positive, upbeat attitude.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to push or pull linen carts weighing 240 to 696 pounds; assistance is provided for heavier carts if needed.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical activities described in the posting.
Ability to work consistently in temperatures of 85 to 100 degrees during May through October.
Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Clean laundry equipment daily at the end of the shift.
Work effectively with others and maintain organization, communication, time management, and attention to detail and quality.
Meet firm deadlines and multitask as needed.
Complete assigned projects and assist in any area of laundry where needed.
Report misuse of linen and terry to the Laundry Manager or Supervisor.
Ensure laundry employees meet Grand Traverse Resort and Spa standards.
Abide by the resort's environmental practices.
Perform other duties and reasonable requests assigned by management.
