About The Position

The Laundry Aide sorts and folds towels, terry, and linens; provides service to guests and other departments; and maintains cleanliness and order in the laundry facility. The role involves safely operating laundry equipment, monitoring linen quality, maintaining a steady flow of laundry, and assisting wherever needed. The employee must follow resort environmental practices and standards, work effectively with others, and complete assignments and other reasonable requests from management. Work is fast-paced, with moderate physical activity and stress, and may involve strict deadlines and unexpected demands. Daily work begins at a set time and ends when assignments are complete, as determined by the Laundry Manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive, upbeat attitude.
• Organization, attention to detail and quality, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work with laundry equipment, including feeding sheets into an ironing machine.
• Physical ability to work consistently in warmer conditions of 85–100 degrees during the May–October summer and peak months.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous housekeeping or laundry experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Sort laundry and fold terry, towels, and linens.
• Provide laundry service to guests and other departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the laundry facility.
• Maintain a high level of workplace safety and operate laundry equipment safely as trained.
• Monitor the quality of laundered linen and terry, and report deviations or unacceptable items to the Laundry Manager or Supervisor.
• Maintain a continual flow of linen and terry as directed.
• Maintain personal appearance standards and present a professional image.
• Maintain a pleasant and tactful personality, positive attitude, and high staff morale.
• Work effectively with others and manage multiple tasks, details, quality, and deadlines.
• Complete assigned projects and assist in any area of laundry as needed.
• Report misuse of linen and terry to the Laundry Manager or Supervisor.
• Ensure laundry employees are meeting Grand Traverse Resort and Spa standards.
• Understand and abide by the resort's environmental practices.
• Perform other duties and reasonable requests assigned by management.
