About The Position

The Laundry Aide performs general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and help maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner and free from offensive odors. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties and qualifications may change as management assigns or reassigns work, and reasonable accommodations may be made for employees with disabilities.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regular ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make clean linen available in sufficient quantities to support residents’ care and comfort.
• Maintain linen in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
• Collect residents’ laundry daily or as needed.
• Label new residents’ clothing as needed.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to residents’ rooms.
• Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
