About The Position

The Laundry Aide performs general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and help maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner and free from offensive odors. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or changed by management, and the listed responsibilities describe the general nature and level of the work rather than an exhaustive list.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make clean linen available in quantities sufficient for the proper care and comfort of residents.
• Maintain linens in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
• Collect residents’ laundry daily or as needed.
• Label new residents’ clothing items as needed.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to residents’ rooms.
• Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
