About The Position

The Amwins Underwriter L.A.U.N.C.H Program is an intensive 9-week education and training program hosted by the Amwins Underwriting division, designed to provide participants with a deep knowledge of the insurance industry, underwriting practices, and the Amwins organization. This program aims to develop a variety of professional skills and offers networking opportunities across the organization. The training will be hosted in Charlotte, NC, with housing provided. Upon completion, participants will relocate to Mobile, AL, to work with The American Equity Underwriters in an entry-level underwriting support role. Participants may be expected to travel up to two times a year for additional training. The role involves supporting lead underwriters by gathering account information for rating, quoting, and binding policies, maintaining account documentation, communicating with clients and internal departments, monitoring reports, and providing administrative support.

Requirements

  • RMI degree preferred early in career (less than 2 years of experience)

Responsibilities

  • Support lead underwriter by gathering account information to rate, quote and bind policies
  • Maintain and manage account documentation and files
  • Communicates with clients and internal departments to gather information, provide updates, and resolve issues and inquiries
  • Monitor various reports for consistency
  • Provide administrative support and other related services as needed (e.g., input account account information into the system)
  • Travel as needed
