About The Position
Ford Racing is seeking a Technical Leader to manage the builds, launch, and quality plans for high-performance Mustangs, working with both internal and external suppliers. This role is crucial for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, high-performance vehicles. The position involves leading a team of engineers responsible for Plant Vehicle Teams, prototype builds, and supplier technical assistance, with a focus on efficient and timely execution of prototypes within cost and engineering resource constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 15 years experience in product vehicle engineering and plant launches.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Ability to support in plant launch activities and supplier visits out of the state/ internationally (Canada).
Nice To Haves
- Engineering Masters of Science degree or higher.
- Working understanding of Functional requirements, failure mode effects, causes, severity and detection methods (DFMEAs).
- Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations.
- Clear/concise communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute DCV builds.
- Lead Ford Racing Production Vehicle Launches for all prebuilds TT to OKTB.
- Coordinate delivery of all Product Development Metrics on the Launch Score Card.
- Co-Lead the Launch Jira / issues resolution process.
- Coordinate carry-over issues with PVT Managers during launch.
- Lead the PPAP Metrics with Ford Racing Production Vehicle STA Engineer.
- Support the Ford Racing Production Vehicle Body Exterior team in PIST & Fit to Nominal execution to launch standards.
- Ensure quality from planning through DCV checkpoint, in-plant launch phases, and post-OKTB.
- Lead Vehicle Quality Reviews for Ford Racing monthly at VO plants.
- Lead vehicle line discussions in Ford Racing’s weekly QPSTs and monthly Chief Quality Reviews.
- Report on quality status weekly with daily claims.
- Engage in the monthly roadmap.
- Engage internal Ford Racing Production Vehicle engineers & peers along with external engineering teams to deliver overall quality targets.
- Support in-plant launch activities and supplier visits out of state/internationally (Canada).
