About The Position

Ford Racing is seeking an experienced and driven Low Volume Manufacturing Manager to lead niche manufacturing efforts for both Motorsports and Road Car applications. This leader will establish a center-of-excellence for advanced manufacturing technologies, influence investment and capability decisions, and guide a team that collaborates with Design and Release engineers. The goal is to accelerate development, optimize capital expenditure, and deliver innovative, race-proven solutions. This is a high-visibility role for an individual skilled in technology strategy, team development, and hands-on manufacturing execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Broad knowledge of total vehicle manufacturing processes including Body construction, Paint, Final Assembly, EOL, and Control Plan execution.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing technologies to inform process adjustments for low volume situations.
• Significant, demonstrated experience in low volume manufacturing, including equipment specification and implementation, design for manufacturing, build execution, and quality confirmation.
• Proven experience leading and developing salaried technical teams.
• Strong understanding of the product development process and ability to work effectively with design and release engineers.
• Track record of leading strategic technology or capability decisions, including capital investment and supplier/partner relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization to senior leaders and external partners.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to make sound decisions based on overall value and business impact.
• A competitive spirit and passion for winning.

• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with Additive Manufacturing technologies.
• Experience managing supplier and strategic partner relationships for equipment or outsourced manufacturing capability.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for low volume vehicle and additive manufacturing at Ford Racing, identifying key technologies, equipment, and capabilities for investment or partnership.
• Build, lead, and develop a team of engineers to serve as the center-of-excellence for low volume manufacturing, working with Design and Release engineers on design-for-manufacturing and product launch.
• Establish and achieve key performance indicators to measure the growth and impact of low volume manufacturing efforts.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external partners and suppliers, negotiating scope, timing, and financial commitments.
• Drive the integration of low volume manufacturing capabilities into both near-term program needs and long-term vehicle architecture planning.
• Identify manufacturing capability requirements to support high-potential vehicle programs.
• Determine additional functions/capabilities to be in-sourced, make strategic choices, and provide recommendations.
• Design manufacturing floor layouts for motorsports and production vehicles.
• Establish manufacturing principles for design-for-manufacturability specific to low volume vehicles.
• Develop robust manufacturing standards independent of Ford norms, creating a low volume Bill of Process integrated with Ford standards.
• Integrate with heritage vehicle business development opportunities.
• Negotiate contracts with partners as needed.
• Travel for site visits, benchmarking, and supplier or partner meetings.
