About The Position

Demco is seeking a Laser Operator for its Fabrication department. The position focuses on operating lasers and assisting in other fabrication work. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to read and use measuring tools accurately and have computer knowledge. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Fridays as needed. A sign-on bonus is available. Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Requirements

Ability to read and use measuring tools accurately.
Computer knowledge.
Ability to operate a forklift, hoist, and crane and follow the correct operating procedures.
Experience is preferred but not required.

Experience operating lasers or working in fabrication.

Responsibilities

Program machinery and lasers to cut, bend, and press parts according to prints.
Load steel onto machinery and lasers using proper equipment.
Unload finished parts and stack them according to size, shape, and material.
Enter recorded data accurately into a computer.
Use computer software to arrange parts for cutting in the smallest possible area to maximize material usage.
Find, print, and understand shop orders, customer orders, and engineering drawings.
Operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes according to the correct procedures.
Attend required safety training.
Follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
Mentor and train other employees.
Complete jobs in a timely and consistent manner.
Work as part of a team and independently with self-motivation.
Look for new and improved ways to perform tasks.
Meet reasonable production goals.
Maintain a safe working environment.
