About The Position

MPE is seeking a Laser Cutting Support Team Member to separate and clean up parts cut by laser and turret machines, ensuring they meet quality standards before moving to the next production step. This hands-on entry-level role in sheet metal fabrication involves working with parts for medical carts, enclosures, and related products in a fast-paced production environment where precision and teamwork matter. The available schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, work instructions, and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to use basic math, algebra, and geometry to work with dimensions and measurements.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, talk, and hear; close vision is required.
• Ability to frequently walk and use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate a variety of manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Separate and grind parts using sanders, a sandblaster, a Fladder deburring machine, and other tools.
• Verify parts and, when assigned, the work of other operators against quality standards.
• Read mechanical drawings, including standard and metric dimensions.
• Package and crate completed product.
• Work in inserting operations as needed.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Train other team members as directed by the Team Leader.
• Follow safety requirements, including consistent use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace through consistent housekeeping.
