About The Position

Clow Valve Company’s Machine Shop is hiring a Large Valve Assembler. This second-shift position works Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The starting wage is $28.21, with a qualified rate of $28.34. Health insurance is available after 60 days. The assembler prepares and assembles products according to work instructions and specifications, inspects product quality, resolves verifiable assembly issues, documents production and quality activities, maintains supplies, and prepares completed products for shipment. The role requires physical activity, including standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and repetitive use of the hands, as well as working in extreme temperatures and with hands in water.

Requirements

Ability to lift and carry less than 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, lift, and twist frequently, up to 12 times per hour.
Ability to stand for more than 6 hours per day.
Ability to move the neck forward and backward and turn right and left.
Ability to repetitively use both hands and fingers to grasp, exert force, wear gloves, and use tools.
Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions and with hands in water.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, metatarsal and guarded boots.

Responsibilities

Study assembly instructions and parts lists, and gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Position parts and components according to work instructions.
Test products and visually inspect them to verify specifications and quality.
Assemble products using hand tools and other equipment.
Resolve verifiable assembly problems to meet specifications and notify a supervisor if additional resources are needed.
Palletize completed products and prepare them for shipment.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
Check supply stock, anticipate needs, place and expedite supply orders, and verify receipt of supplies.
Complete production and quality forms.
Contribute to the team by meeting production requirements as needed.
