About The Position

The Large River Partnership Specialist works with Business Units (BU) and Divisions/Regions to develop and leverage strong partner relationships with scientific/research organizations, governments, corporate business sector, community organizations, indigenous groups, national affiliates of international conservation and development organizations, etc. The Large River Partnership Specialist forms a partner leverage strategy for their geography which achieves objectives established through conservation area plans. They’ll provide specialized guidance in forming, maintaining, developing existing partnerships with scientific/research institutions, governments, community groups, NISP consortia, indigenous organizations, NGOs. They help raise funds for overall functional initiatives and/or specific projects, by providing input for proposal writing, negotiating with bilateral and multilateral agencies, corporate business sector and cultivating donors, as needed. Preferred location would be Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa or Wisconsin. This is a remote position. We’re Looking for You: Are you looking for a career to help people and nature? Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience in the functional field, or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and directing multiple complex projects and ensuring program accountability.
  • Communications experience including preparing and presenting project proposals and developing written communications.
  • Experience negotiating with other agencies, companies, private parties, or related entities.
  • A valid driver's license and compliance with TNC's Auto Safety Program.
  • Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.

  • Master’s degree may be preferred
  • Working knowledge of current trends in relevant discipline.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication, negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of and relevant experience in the culture of the country/region.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the functional needs and practices of the pertinent region.
  • Supervisory experience, including ability to set objectives and manage performance.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis, consultation with others, experience, and judgment.
