About The Position

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a Landscaping Technician to join our Facilities Department. The Landscaping Technician maintains the grounds and exterior appearance of EAS properties. This position operates commercial landscaping equipment, performs routine grounds maintenance, and supports safe, clean, and professional outdoor environments across multiple EAS locations.

Requirements

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • Knowledge of safe mowing, trimming, pruning, cleanup, and basic grounds maintenance practices.
  • Ability to safely operate and transport commercial landscaping equipment and trailers.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment care and minor maintenance.
  • Ability to follow route plans, work assignments, weather-related direction, and verbal or written instructions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support changing seasonal and facility needs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying heat, cold, rain, sun, dust, and noise while wearing required PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, or related landscaping, grounds, agriculture, construction, or equipment experience as determined by department management.
  • Previous commercial landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Mow, edge, trim, blow, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas at assigned EAS properties.
  • Prune shrubs and small trees, maintain planting beds, apply mulch, and remove weeds and unwanted vegetation.
  • Collect leaves, litter, debris, and storm damage and maintain clean entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior work areas.
  • Operate zero-turn mowers, tractors, string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, trailers, and other grounds equipment after receiving required training.
  • Inspect landscaping equipment before use and perform routine cleaning, blade changes, lubrication, and minor maintenance as assigned.
  • Inspect irrigation components and report leaks, damaged heads, drainage issues, erosion, or landscape deficiencies.
  • Assist with planting, seeding, sod, soil preparation, erosion control, and seasonal grounds projects.
  • Support snow, ice, storm, or severe weather response when required.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload tools, equipment, materials, and trailers between EAS locations.
  • Set up safe work zones and protect employees, visitors, vehicles, and property while operating equipment.
  • Maintain accurate equipment, fuel, material, and work completion records as assigned.
  • Follow all EAS safety policies and procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Other duties may be added as needed by supervision.
