About The Position

Provide maintenance of exterior campus landscapes, including lawns, gardens, flower beds, hedges, walkways, plazas, streets, trees, and shrubs. Perform simple or light irrigation-system maintenance and stabilize or repair fences, walls, curbs, and related features. Duties may include mowing, string trimming, basic pruning, weeding, raking leaves, picking up loose trash, servicing exterior garbage barrels and dumpsters, cleaning drainage ditches and culverts, and loading materials.

Assist with snow-removal operations, including shoveling stairs and walkways, spreading ice-melt products, and operating truck-mounted plows, sanding equipment, skid-steer loaders, and loading equipment. Support other Landscape Services operations as needed.

Support university office and furniture moves and special-event setups. Duties include moving furniture and equipment, setting up chairs and tables, and transporting equipment and boxes between campus and the warehouse. Other duties related to the position's primary functions may be assigned. This is a driving position; employees must provide information verifying a valid driver's license, submit a DMV driving record, and comply with University insurability guidelines. The posted base rate is $33.62 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts driver's license.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs.
• Valid Massachusetts Hoisting License 2A.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of experience in landscape maintenance operations at a commercial or institutional level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with snow removal by shoveling stairs and walkways, spreading ice-melt products, and operating plows, sanding equipment, skid-steer loaders, and loading equipment.
• Support office and furniture moves and special-event setups, including moving furniture and equipment, setting up chairs and tables, and transporting items between campus and the warehouse.
• Perform other duties related to the position's primary functions as assigned.
