About The Position

Skinner Overlook Landscape and Design is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Landscape Detail Crew Member to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining garden beds and landscaped areas through weeding, pruning, shrub trimming, mulching, and detailed property cleanup. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, professional results and understands the importance of protecting plants, lawns, buildings, and customer property while working.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required because this position includes operating company vehicles between job sites.
  • Ability to safely operate hedge trimmers, hand-pruning tools, string trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in completed work.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to arrive on time.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, and other changing weather conditions.
  • Repeatedly lift, carry, load, and unload materials weighing approximately 75 pounds.
  • Push and maneuver loaded wheelbarrows and landscape equipment.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods.
  • Walk and work safely on lawns, slopes, garden beds, and uneven terrain.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while weeding, pruning, trimming, and spreading mulch.
  • Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • A current DOT medical card is preferred.
  • Previous landscaping, gardening, pruning, mulching, or grounds-maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Basic plant identification and proper pruning knowledge are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly weed garden beds and landscaped areas.
  • Prune and shape shrubs using proper horticultural practices.
  • Trim hedges neatly and consistently.
  • Edge and prepare planting beds for mulch installation.
  • Install and spread mulch evenly at the appropriate depth.
  • Remove dead plant material, leaves, weeds, and landscape debris.
  • Maintain clean bed lines and an orderly appearance throughout each property.
  • Load, unload, and safely handle tools, equipment, mulch, soil, and landscape debris.
  • Drive company vehicles between the shop, job sites, and disposal locations.
  • Clean work areas thoroughly before leaving each property.
  • Follow instructions provided by crew leaders and managers.
  • Report plant-health concerns, property damage, safety concerns, or unexpected site conditions to a supervisor.
  • Work cooperatively with other crew members to complete properties efficiently and professionally.
