Landscape Crew Member
About The Position
GroundSystems, a locally owned commercial landscaping company serving the Dayton, Ohio area, is hiring full-time Landscape Crew Members for year-round work. The company provides paid, hands-on training, necessary equipment, and opportunities for career advancement. Landscaping experience is not required. Drivers and non-drivers are welcome, and no CDL is required. Qualified team members may drive company trucks and trailers to job sites. Driving positions require a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. The role involves creating and maintaining attractive, healthy landscapes for commercial clients. Work may include mowing, edging, trimming, planting, pruning, laying sod, applying fertilizers, operating and caring for landscaping equipment, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and assisting with snow and ice management in winter. Employees should be prepared to work outdoors in changing weather and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. GroundSystems reviews criminal history individually; a prior conviction does not automatically disqualify an applicant. Criminal history is requested only after an initial qualifications review and a conditional job offer, in compliance with local ordinances.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Be comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Have basic English communication skills.
- Have a positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a team.
- For driving positions, be at least 20 years old and have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Mow, edge, and trim lawns.
- Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Prune and maintain landscape beds.
- Lay sod and apply fertilizers.
- Operate and care for landscaping tools and power equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and safe.
- Help with snow and ice management during winter.
- For qualified team members in driving positions, drive company trucks and trailers to job sites.
