About The Position

ABC Home & Commercial Services is hiring a Landscape Crew Leader to lead a landscaping crew serving San Antonio and surrounding areas. The role is responsible for completing assigned work professionally and meeting customers’ landscaping needs with excellent service. The leader reviews designs and sales agreements, directs crew workflow, and helps ensure work is completed to specification. The role may also include driving the crew. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with Saturdays required during the busy season or when weekday work is delayed or affected by weather or holidays. Daily hours follow a start-to-finish schedule. Training pay is $19–$21 based on experience; regular pay is $45,000–$70,000 based on productivity. ABC states that it remains busy year-round and does not have seasonal layoffs.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous landscaping experience.
A valid driver's license issued at least five years before the application date.
If assigned as a crew driver, maintain an active driver's license and be insurable.
Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure while maintaining good composure.
Experience working with routes and service stops and meeting service-route deadlines.
Dependable and self-motivated, with a desire to work year-round.
English speaking is required.
Ability to work indoors and/or outdoors for long periods, sometimes in extreme temperatures.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED desired.

Responsibilities

Review landscape designs with the salesperson and follow the specifications for the work to be completed.
Direct the workflow and work performed by crew members.
Instruct crew members on proper landscaping equipment handling and equipment safety procedures.
Become familiar with customers’ expectations and sales agreements.
Prepare worksites, including digging, sweeping, and removing objects.
Install or remove trees, shrubs, palms, plants, sod, and mulch, and perform other work specified in sales agreements, including light construction.
Learn and perform small-scale construction and repair projects, such as laying slabs, building small rock walls and other rock features, and working on outdoor kitchens and grills as stated in contracts.
Clean the work area and haul away trash, branches, plants, and other debris when work is complete.
Drive the crew if assigned.
