About The Position

Cloud Peak Minerals, a subsidiary of Flat River Minerals (FRM), is seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals for an entry-level position in their title group. This role is designed for candidates with little to no prior title experience who are eager to learn a specialized skillset in oil and gas. The position involves researching county land records, analyzing legal documents, and building title chains using company software. This is a hands-on training opportunity for individuals interested in a long-term career in mineral and royalty ownership research across West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Aptitude, work ethic, and attention to detail are prioritized over prior experience.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree a plus (Degree requirement may be waived for candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude, intelligence, and motivation)
• No prior title or land experience required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with legal documents
• Ability to meet daily and weekly deadlines in a changing work environment
• Comfort learning and using new software platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level of initiative, accountability, and self-motivation

Responsibilities

• Research county land records to determine surface and mineral ownership using online databases and courthouse records
• Analyze deeds, leases, assignments, probate filings, and related documents
• Build and maintain title chains from patent to present using the Company’s title software
• Accurately input, organize, and validate title data within internal systems
• Flag potential title issues or irregularities for review by senior landmen or legal counsel
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
