About The Position

The Entry Level Analyst role sits within the Securities Administration Services group and focuses on processing complex transactions and reconciliations related to loan and security payments. You will work extensively with pooled loan data from multiple mortgage servicers, performing data entry, accounting, and detailed financial analyses to identify and resolve variances. The position requires regular use of multiple database systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, and involves researching and interpreting controlling legal documents when issues arise with collateral or bond payments. This is an entry-level role with strong growth potential in a highly collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and related functions.
  • Ability to perform detailed data entry and accounting tasks with strong attention to accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong analytical skills to review, interpret, and reconcile pooled loan and financial data from multiple sources.
  • Working knowledge or ability to develop expertise in Collateral, Securities, Default, and Trust Administration.
  • Ability to research and interpret legal and financial documents related to collateral and bond payments.
  • Approximately 1 year of experience in finance or a related field is preferred, including internships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or a closely related discipline.
  • Comfort working in a deadline-driven environment and managing workload to meet monthly cutoff dates.
  • Strong business analysis and finance skills, including understanding of data relationships and variance analysis.
  • Effective communication skills to convey findings and exceptions to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, including internships, is preferred but not strictly required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis tools and multiple database systems beyond Excel is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, task-based environment.
  • Interest in system enhancements, process improvement, and automation of manual workflows.
  • Capability to support training and mentoring of junior staff as skills and experience grow.
  • Adaptability to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines during monthly and project-based cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Process complex transactions and reconciliations related to loan and security payments with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Provide remittance and correction information to mortgage servicers in a timely and precise manner.
  • Monitor and analyze pooled loan data to identify non-compliance and communicate findings to investors.
  • Evaluate servicer performance to ensure adherence to stated agreements and report any discrepancies.
  • Use multiple database systems and Microsoft Excel regularly to identify, investigate, and resolve data variances.
  • Research and interpret controlling legal documents when issues arise with collateral or bond payments.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Collateral, Securities, Default, and Trust Administration processes and requirements.
  • Participate in system enhancements by attending user groups and performing testing of new or updated functionality.
  • Identify and communicate processing exceptions that may impact similar series across individual portfolios.
  • Train junior staff as needed and review their processing and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Propose recommendations and help implement automated solutions on an ongoing basis to improve efficiency and controls.
  • Complete monthly analyses and reconciliations within strict deadlines, including working overtime when necessary.
