Land Survey Crew Chief
About The Position
Tesoro Technology has partnered with a prominent national survey and engineering firm specializing in renewable energy and land development to hire a Land Survey Crew Chief. The position supports projects primarily in the employee’s area and is described as remote, with required travel in the Pennsylvania area. It is a contract-to-hire position offering growth opportunities. The Crew Chief leads survey crews and provides technical expertise for varied surveying projects, including pre-design boundary, topography, and ALTA surveys. The role uses Trimble GPS, robotic total stations, differential leveling equipment, and heavy line coding systems. It also involves maintaining client relationships and complying with safety, quality management, and equipment maintenance policies. During travel periods, the schedule is 3–4 weeks on-site followed by 1 week off, with 75–85 hours per week during travel. The listed salary is $120,000–$160,000, and per diem is $205 per day, 7 days per week. A valid driver’s license and clean driving history are required.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience managing survey crews.
- Proficiency with total stations and GPS in static and RTK modes.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain them.
- Physical ability to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and navigate construction sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Surveying or Engineering Technology, or equivalent field experience.
- Background in commercial or residential land development and public infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Public Land Survey System monument recovery.
Responsibilities
