GC&E Federal is seeking a Land Mobile Radio Technician for Dugway Proving Grounds, UT. The candidate will work within a team to support a government Information Technology (IT) program. This role ensures the successful operation and maintenance of Information and Infrastructure systems for Dugway Proving Ground and all remote sites. The technician will serve as an LMR support specialist and Spectrum SME, responsible for managing DPG LMR and frequency spectrum. They will provide full technical and administrative support for LMR systems, including the Base Support Trunked Radio System (BSTRS), and engage with various entities concerning spectrum customer requirements for testing and training. The role involves installing, troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining wireless telecommunications equipment using RF and mixed signal capabilities, including preventative maintenance, RF front-end design, radio propagation modeling, interference analysis, and circuit design. Electronic support services include maintenance for vehicles, communications (LMR), and sustainment maintenance on various equipment. The technician will review coordination requests, track parts used for radio installations, report usage, and investigate radio frequency interference. Expertise is required in the design, development, configuration, and implementation of RF communications equipment. The role also involves managing DPG spectrum and spectrum-dependent operations, acting as Frequency Manager, and maintaining knowledge of DoD directives related to Frequency Management. Activities include scheduling, de-conflicting, and resolving frequency conflicts. The technician will respond to emergency calls to restore LMR systems, develop conceptual system designs, conduct market research, maintain calibration on specialized tools, monitor narrow band radio systems, and ensure the radio bay and office areas are clean and orderly. Collaboration with the NEC Radio Spectrum Manager is expected for collecting spectrum requirements and filing with various Army and NTIA offices. The role includes installing/uninstalling and configuring radios, maintaining reports and records, making material requisitions, and maintaining an inventory of repair parts. Tune-ups and preventative maintenance on handhelds and mobiles are required annually, with documentation provided. The technician will work with Test Officers to collect spectrum requirements, assign local spectrum assignments, generate and submit Single Frequency Action Forms (SFAF) using Spectrum XXI software, and manage Remedy tickets within four working days. In case of End of Service/End of Life components, the technician will notify the NEC POC or COR with details and recommendations for replacements. Databases regarding spectrum-dependent operations will be maintained, and assistance will be provided to spectrum managers using Spectrum XXI software for frequency proposals, modifications, and renewals. De-confliction of DPG spectrum assignments and operations will be performed in IFDS and Spectrum 21. Installation, maintenance, repairs, tune-ups, programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics will be performed on various radio systems and associated equipment. All work orders are to be completed within four working days. Government equipment accountability will be maintained through proper logging and submission of logs. Current listings of government radio locations will be kept, and Government equipment Accountability Logs will be provided as requested. Network and systems diagrams will be developed and maintained, showing interfaces with other base communications systems. An accurate, current database of accountable LMR assets will be maintained. Maintenance and annual PM on all UPS systems and components are required, ensuring they are in excellent working condition 95% of the time.
