About The Position

Gulfport Energy Corporation is an Oklahoma City-based independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company with its principal properties located in the Utica Shale in Eastern Ohio, the SCOOP Woodford and SCOOP Springer plays in Central Oklahoma. JOB SUMMARY: The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who exercises sound judgment and applies a practical approach to business decisions. This role requires extensive experience with oil and gas title transactions, statutory and case law, administrative regulations and processes, and contract interpretation, particularly in Ohio and Oklahoma. A strong working knowledge of land-related processes, from pre-drilling preparation through royalty distribution, is essential. This position manages and supervises a team that supports an active multi-state drilling program and serves as a liaison among the Land Operations, Lease Administration, and Division Order teams. The role reports directly to the Vice President of Land Administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of land/mineral title-related legal experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management position

Nice To Haves

  • law degree, energy management degree or similar degree preferred
  • Oklahoma and Appalachian experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise title landmen in reviewing and curing title and legal requirements associated with the preparation and approval of division of interests in advance of distribution of revenue
  • Maintain expertise in governing oil and gas laws and regulatory processes and requirements
  • Interpret and maintain various contracts including letter agreements, letters of intent, mineral deeds, leases, assignments, well data agreements, confidentiality agreements, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and farm out/in agreements, declarations of pooled units and regulatory orders
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned
