You will be accountable for: Oversight of all file correspondence and discussions with clients and municipalities. Preparation of standard legal documents for real estate transactions and land development documents for subdivision developments, severances, and land development matters. Preparation and review of Agreements of Purchase and Sale and Conservation Easement Agreements. Prepare documents for residential real estate transactions including sales, purchases, and transfers. Conduct title and execution searches for review by lawyer. Preparation of documents related to Land Conservation, Severances, Easements and Title Corrections. Coordinating files with municipalities, surveyors, and planners. Close deals, register instruments and prepare final reports to client. Managing the physical and electronic client files in accordance with Firm policies and procedure. Interact with clients, placing a high value on relationship-building and exceeding expectations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a law clerk/legal assistant in a similar role.
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing situations, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think critically to solve problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to communicate with all parties involved in a real estate transaction.
  • Effective interpersonal and client service skills, with strong initiative and ability to work independently under pressure and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Some working knowledge with Teraview, Unity, LEAP and MS Office is considered an asset.
