About The Position

Boralex is expanding its Real Estate Team in New York to support the state’s mandate to increase non-emitting energy generation. Building on our strong track record of land acquisition, this growth will enable us to advance an expanding pipeline of renewable energy projects. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated professional to support U.S. development activities, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in renewable energy real estate or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of real estate processes for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and/or wind projects—from initial landowner outreach through project operation.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong document management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate key terms in real estate agreements, including Options to Lease, Easements, and Purchase Agreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable representing the company in external settings when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with landowners while balancing professionalism, persuasion, and problem-solving.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Teams, Google Earth, and similar tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel independently to project sites (approximately 50% of the time).

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with landowners; serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries and concerns as needed.
  • Support the negotiation and management of land acquisitions for renewable energy projects.
  • Assist with landowner outreach, including drafting correspondence and managing communications.
  • Conduct property and contact research, obtain property records, and support title work, including document preparation and registration.
  • Maintain accurate records of land acquisition activities and issue tracking within internal systems.
  • Support the Real Estate Team Leader with: Preparation and coordination of land agreements, revisions, and amendments
  • Internal processing of executed agreements
  • Additional administrative and project support tasks as required
