About The Position

As a Real Estate Specialist with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will help manage land transactions that support recreation, conservation, and public access. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with legal documents, surveys, and partner organizations from across the state. This position supports statewide land acquisition and disposition efforts by reviewing documents, researching property information, and coordinating with partners. It helps guide accurate and responsible land management decisions for state forests and parks.

Requirements

  • One year as a Real Estate Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of technical real estate experience and an associate degree
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Possession of an active Class C driver’s license or equivalent
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Create agreements, deeds, easements, and related materials for land transactions
  • Examine title work, surveys, and abstracts to identify concerns and recommend corrections
  • Investigate sales data, courthouse records, and ownership details for land cases
  • Work with landowners, agencies, attorneys, and conservancies on acquisition processes
  • Organize real estate closings and ensure documents are recorded and filed correctly
  • Research land claims, boundaries, rights-of-way, and other property-related disputes
