About The Position

Performs elementary and routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools. Utilization of open mold and vacuum infusion processes. Works with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives. Installs wood and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds. Operates a variety of power tools including but not limited to saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists. Locates parts by hand or by utilizing detailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and/or fixtures. Sanding of fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching.
  • Ability to climb on and through stairs, molds, and staging throughout the duration of your shift.
  • Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work overtime both planned and unplanned to meet company goals.
  • Adherence to all quality standards and ability to adapt to new standards as processes evolve.
  • Demonstrated record of dependability and reliability with prior work or professional experience.
  • Ability to work well with team professionals.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to work in close proximity to co-workers and in areas with limited space.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment across multiple departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Skills in forklift, overhead hoist, computer, fiberglass and/or gel-coat applications preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Marine industry experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mixing and lay‑up of composite materials (fiberglass, resins, catalysts, gelcoats, foam, and adhesives) using open mold and vacuum infusion processes.
  • Prepare molds and apply fiberglass materials using hand tools in accordance with work instructions and quality standards.
  • Sand, grind, and finish fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds to required specifications.
  • Install wood cores, inserts, and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and molded parts.
  • Operate power tools and equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, sanders, overhead hoists, and related tooling safely.
  • Safely operate forklifts and/or tugger vehicles to transport, stage, load, and unload molds, materials, and finished components within the facility.
