About The Position

This position is for a Grade 3 Lamination Technician in the Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) department. The role involves a wide variety of fiberglass lamination tasks, including mold preparation for gel coaters, removing fiberglass from molds, and transporting finished parts into the hole cut booth. The technician will be required to lift heavy objects multiple times a day and may also perform gel coating, bracing, and various PI tasks. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to read a tape measure
Ability to read and understand a production schedule
Requires ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, powered and manual
Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment, using protective clothing and respirator
Ability to pass a respirator fit test

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 1 year of related boating building experience
3 years fiberglass lamination experience

Responsibilities

Maintains and adjusts resin mixers and pumps.
Reads production schedule and ensures parts are being completed and moved on to the next station in a timely manner.
Follows all safety standards and procedures, including chemical handling standards and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements (wearing respirators, gloves, chemical resistance aprons, and chemical resistant suits).
Uses hand, battery, and pneumatic tools.
Performs mold preparation for gel coaters.
Removes fiberglass from mold.
Transports finished parts into hole cut booth.
May include gel coating, bracing, and various PI tasks.
