Labourer (Temporary 3 month term)
About The Position
SMS is seeking Labourers for a temporary, full-time term of 3 months for the summer with an anticipated start date of June 1, 2026. The Labourers will assist the warehouse and maintenance team with any general labourer duties and assisting the yard team with ensure both the branch and yard are organized. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn, enjoys physical work and has a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety. Base Wage: $24.02. Additional premiums may be available. Location: Wabush, NF Schedule: 5x2 (40hrs a week)
Requirements
- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety
- Previous industry related work experience
- Valid Class 5 drivers’ license
- Working knowledge of computers
Nice To Haves
- Forklift, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, Fire Extinguisher, TDG, First Aid, and Hoisting and Rigging training an asset (must be willing to be trained on forklift)
- Strong customer service skills
Responsibilities
- Assist with general warehouse duties (shiping/receiving)
- Picking parts orders
- Assist with warehouse and yard maintenance
- Forklift operation and maintenance, as required
- Dealing with customers and suppliers
- General laborer and custodial duties, as required
