About The Position

Join our Canadian Nuclear Division as a Labour Relations Manager and contribute to shaping a positive and productive workplace culture within a federal jurisdiction. Reporting to the Vice President, Labour Relations, you will collaborate closely with management and Human Resources Business Partners to provide expert labour relations guidance. This role offers the opportunity to influence labour strategies, support innovation, and help drive strong employer‑union relationships within a dynamic engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply deep knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and workplace legislation.
  • Aptitude for influencing, problem solving, and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in preparing for and managing the grievance and arbitration process.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the employer‑union relationship through facilitation, engagement, and a consultative approach.
  • Provide strategic advice on the administration, interpretation, and implementation of collective agreements.
  • Support conflict resolution processes, including complex grievances, arbitrations, and Labour Board proceedings.
  • Collaborate with management, unions, and stakeholders to resolve issues proactively.
  • Deliver labour relations training to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Support the development and implementation of forward‑looking union‑management strategies.
  • Prepare reports on labour and union activities to support decision‑making.
  • Demonstrates strong data analytics capabilities, including advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data modeling, and trend analysis) to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
  • Plays a significant role in the upcoming round of collective bargaining, supporting preparation, analysis, and strategy development.
  • Serves as a member of management’s bargaining team during negotiations of the collective agreement with Candu’s union.
