About The Position

Oak Valley Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Labour Relations Coordinator to support labour and employee relations activities across our organization. Reporting to the Manager, Employee & Labour Relations, you will assist with grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, labour relations reporting, and labour-management initiatives while supporting positive relationships with leaders, employees, and union partners.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within a unionized environment.
  • Exposure to labour relations processes such as grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, workplace investigations, or labour-management committees.
  • Knowledge of applicable employment and labour legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, and Human Rights Code.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism in sensitive situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the judgment to identify issues requiring escalation.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare and/or multi-site organizational experience is considered an asset.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation, or progress toward certification, is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support grievance administration, ensuring timelines, documentation, and follow-up activities are managed effectively.
  • Assist with workplace investigations through information gathering, note-taking, documentation review, and preparation of supporting materials.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on routine collective agreement interpretation, including scheduling, overtime, premiums, leaves, attendance management, and progressive discipline processes.
  • Maintain accurate labour relations records and databases, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and Letters of Understanding.
  • Compile labour relations metrics and reports to support trend analysis and decision-making.
  • Coordinate labour-management committee meetings, including agenda preparation, meeting logistics, minute-taking, and action item tracking.
  • Support collective bargaining preparation through research, data collection, and organization of background materials.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with union representatives, operational leaders, and Human Resources colleagues.
