We are looking for lawyer who is already well versed in labour and employment law with specialized experience in conducting complex workplace investigations with an advanced understanding of investigation scope and procedure and the impact on workplace dynamics. The role will include investigations work as well as advisory and hearing-based work.

Requirements

  • Lawyer with 6+ years of call to the bar in good standing in a Canadian jurisdiction, with at least 3 years of experience in labour and employment law and in particular in workplace investigations
  • Relevant training and experience in the conduct of trauma-informed and culturally safe workplace investigations
  • Experience conducting workplace assessments and environmental scans
  • Accurate and comprehensive investigation reports including reporting of findings, legal analysis and recommendations
  • Experience with workplace investigations across diverse workplaces, including demonstrated skills in interviewing, reviewing evidence, and conducting credibility assessments
  • Experience advising employers (unionized and non-unionized) on a wide variety of workplace law issues
  • Experience with labour relations matters
  • A client-focused approach to legal practice
  • Strong communication and client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and advocacy skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
