We are seeking an experienced Employment Attorney or HR Compliance Lawyer to review company employment policies and ensure compliance with California labor laws.
Requirements
- Active California Attorney License (Mandatory)
- Strong experience in California employment and labor law
- Knowledge of California Labor Code
- Knowledge of Wage & Hour laws
- Knowledge of Employee classification
- Knowledge of Harassment & discrimination compliance
- Knowledge of FMLA/CFRA laws
- Excellent communication and legal review skills
Nice To Haves
- California resident
- Experience with startups, small businesses, or multi-state employers
- HR compliance and Policies review experience
- Multi State License Preferred
Responsibilities
- Review employment policies, handbooks, and HR procedures
- Identify legal and compliance risks
- Advise on California labor law and employee relations matters
- Review onboarding, termination, leave, wage & hour, and workplace policies
- Recommend policy updates and compliance improvements
