About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service has an immediate opening for an entry-level full-time Laborer at the Poplar Island facility located near Tilghman Island, Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team that provides environmental solutions to the public and private sectors throughout the State of Maryland.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED or completion of eighth grade plus one year of warehouse, production, building maintenance, janitorial, or other general work experience.
• Must be able to pass a standard physical exam, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with less than five points.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Janitorial functions
• Small repairs and maintenance
• Grass cutting
• Pesticide application
• Operation of vehicles
• Use of hand tools, power mowers & other small equipment
• Travel to and from work on a crew vessel (boat)
• Independently complete job-related errands including picking up parts, tools, and supplies.
