About The Position

The Laborer assists with a variety of tasks on commercial construction sites, often supporting other tradespeople, including carpenters. Duties may include moving materials, operating equipment as needed, performing selective demolition and concrete placement, and helping with rough and finish carpentry work. The role also involves building temporary protection, keeping work areas clean, and completing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to multitask.
Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible availability, which may include some overtime, weekends, and night shifts.

Nice To Haves

Relevant commercial construction experience.
OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and move materials to and from storage areas and work sites.
Drive equipment as needed.
Perform selective demolition, concrete placement, or flagging.
Stack and assemble materials into bundles.
Make simple repairs and adjustments to machinery or trucks.
Work independently with little direction and find work activities while waiting for the next task.
Assist carpenters with general partition layout, framing, sheetrock installation, and other rough and finish carpentry work as assigned.
Build temporary protection, including barricades, visqueen, and floor protection.
Clean work areas by vacuuming, sweeping, and removing rubbish.
Demolish non-load-bearing walls, ceilings, and flooring materials and clean up demolition debris.
Perform other duties as assigned.
