About The Position

Anderson Environmental Contracting, LLC (AEC) is seeking dependable and safety-conscious Environmental Construction Laborers to join our Environmental Construction Service Line. This is a hands-on field position responsible for supporting environmental remediation, demolition, stormwater, infrastructure, and remedial-treatment projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, follow instructions carefully, and work effectively as part of a construction crew. AEC is based in Southwest Washington, with projects located throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Regular out-of-area and overnight travel is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous construction, environmental remediation, demolition, stormwater, or infrastructure experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Experience operating construction vehicles or equipment.
• Familiarity with construction hand tools and power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Current industry-related licenses, certifications, or training.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Outreach training
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
• Confined Space Entry training
• Current respirator medical clearance and fit testing
• Forklift, telehandler, or aerial-lift certification

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on construction activities necessary to support successful project completion.
• Support contaminated-site remediation, demolition, stormwater, infrastructure, and remedial-treatment projects.
• Assist with excavation, grading, backfilling, compaction, material handling, and site-restoration activities.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of stormwater systems, culverts, piping, and treatment systems.
• Load, unload, move, organize, and stage construction tools, equipment, and materials.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment for which the employee has been trained and authorized.
• Assist equipment operators, Site Superintendents, and other members of the field crew.
• Handle, segregate, stockpile, and place soil and other materials in accordance with project requirements.
• Follow project plans, work instructions, safety requirements, and applicable environmental procedures.
• Participate in daily tailgate meetings, job safety analyses, inspections, and other required safety activities.
• Wear and properly maintain required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use and promptly report unsafe conditions, damage, or maintenance concerns.
• Complete required field and safety documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
• Respond appropriately to changing field conditions and project priorities.
• Perform other duties and project assignments as needed.
