About The Position

The Laborer performs general construction and site-support work for Interstate Waste Services, including material handling, traffic control, cleanup, fueling, and securing landfill coverings. The role requires regular outdoor work in variable weather and exposure to environmental conditions such as chemicals, dust, fumes, odors, and loud noise. Employees must follow OSHA safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Be able to work outdoors on a constant basis in variable weather and temperatures, with exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, odors, and loud noises.
Be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

One year of relevant labor experience.
Experience operating equipment.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Perform general construction activities such as shoveling, lifting, and pulling.
Guide vehicles and equipment to appropriate areas and place signs and cones for traffic direction.
Communicate with drivers, employees, and management using handheld radios and CBs.
Perform site cleanup.
Clean vehicles and equipment as needed.
Drive employees to their workstations as needed.
Fuel vehicles and equipment.
Set up and secure wind fences and landfill coverings.
Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE.
Perform other duties assigned by the manager as necessary.
