About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a Laborer to support waste and recycling site operations on a Monday-Friday schedule from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The role involves general construction work, traffic control, site and equipment cleanup, vehicle and equipment fueling, and securing landfill coverings and wind fences. The Laborer communicates with drivers, employees, and management using handheld radios and CBs, follows OSHA safety standards, and wears required personal protective equipment. The work takes place outdoors and involves exposure to variable weather and environmental conditions. The listed pay is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to work outdoors constantly while exposed to variable weather conditions, temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, smells, and loud noises.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One year of relevant labor experience is preferred.
• Experience operating equipment is a plus.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction activities, including shoveling, lifting, and pulling.
• Guide vehicles and equipment and place signs and cones for traffic control.
• Communicate with drivers, employees, and management using handheld radios and CBs.
• Clean up the site, vehicles, and equipment as needed.
• Drive employees to their work stations as needed.
• Fuel vehicles and equipment.
• Set up and secure wind fences and landfill coverings.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform other duties assigned by the manager as necessary.
