A Laborer II performs skilled and semi-skilled laboring tasks in support of street cleaning, litter control, beautification efforts, seasonal maintenance, and public space operations. Employees in this class perform physically demanding work and are expected to carry out assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established operational and safety procedures. This class differs from Laborer I in that assignments require a greater degree of skill, experience, knowledge of departmental operations, and the ability to perform a broader range of maintenance and field support activities. Employees are expected to demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a commitment to providing high-quality public services. Laborers II typically work under the immediate supervision of a Laborer III, Equipment Operator, or Labor Supervisor who provides work assignments and guidance. Employees may perform routine tasks independently after receiving instruction and may assist Laborers III and Equipment Operators in the completion of daily operational activities.
