About The Position

Perform tasks involving physical labor indoors and outdoors, movement of material, equipment and parts between production areas, operating hand/power tools of all types: a variety of equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites and project locations. May assist other craft workers. The pay rate for this position is $17.20-$22.00/hour.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of construction machines and tools; includes their designs, uses, repair and maintenance, and the practical application of use
  • Ability to pass HAZWOPER physical and respirator fit test
  • Ability to complete pre-employment background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course and 8-Hour HAZWOPER refresher with the last 12 months
  • Basic First Aid/ CPR
  • OSHA 10 certification

Responsibilities

  • Locates and moves materials, equipment and parts between work areas of project location/site to expedite processing of goods, according to pre-determined schedules, needs and priorities
  • General knowledge in the use of manual hand tools and power hand tools
  • Locating underground utilities with a shovel
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Capability to work in a remote camp environment for extended periods up to 8 weeks
  • Provide assistance to staff in the field/site location
  • General manual labor to include use of hand tools and provide manual labor support for project activities and site location.
  • Capable of operating all-terrain vehicles
  • May assist heavy equipment operator as ground support person.
  • Identify any hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment
  • Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal respirator equipment and/or other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) on HAZWOPER sites
  • Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment
  • Possess good housekeeping skills with attention to detail on environmental hazardous to reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Participate in Ahtna medical surveillance program, in accordance with 29CFR 1910.120
  • Perform other duties as assigned
